INBAR+co was born in a spa and refined through science.
our work is guided by our four BEYOND NATURAL pillars.
Together, they shape a skincare philosophy built on skin longevity, not perfection.
MATERIAL INTEGRITY
Plastic‑free by design; FSC paper; aluminum primaries; optional sprays benefit WWF.

About
RESPONSIBLE CHEMISTRY
FOR SKIN LONGEVITY
Responsible Chemistry is our way of bringing green chemistry, science-led ingredients, and an intact microbiome into one clear promise. We design for high performance and low impact by minimizing waste, avoiding petrochemical derivatives and microplastics, and choosing ingredients that work with skin biology—never against it.
Our formulas respect the acid mantle and microbiome through non-stripping cleansers, microbiome-aware textures, and fragrance restraint. Everything is built around barrier health and long-term resilience instead of quick, aggressive “fixes.”

About
MATERIAL INTEGRITY
PLASTIC-FREE BY DESIGN
Material Integrity means your skincare is held to the same standard as what’s inside. We use aluminum tubes and aluminum bottles with aluminum caps, FSC-certified paper, and paper-only shipping, so our system is plastic-free by default.
We resisted sprays for a long time, even as clients asked for more convenient application of our essence and eau de cologne. Until a truly plastic-free spray exists, we’ve created a transparent compromise: optional, reusable spray nozzles that you actively add—and every $5 accessory fee is donated 100% to WWF. We publish quarterly totals and receipts on our Donations Transparency page.

About
LIVING FORMULATION SYSTEM
SPA-BORN, PRACTICE-BASED SCIENCE
Most skincare is developed far from the people who use it. INBAR+co grew up in a treatment room. The Living Formulation System is our spa-born, practice-based approach: formulas start as treatment concepts, are tested on real skin under defined protocols, and are refined through practitioner-logged observations over weeks and months.
We call this quasi-clinical: structured and documented, without pretending to be a full clinical trial. Small-batch production lets us adjust texture, tolerance, and performance based on what we see in practice—not just what’s on paper.

About
PLANET POSITIVE
BEYOND NATURE IN PRACTICE
Planet-Positive means treating sustainability as an operational reality, not a slogan. We run our spa and production on 100% renewable electricity, partner with Marin Sanitary Service for documented waste management, and build plastic-free systems around aluminum and FSC paper.
Our Beyond Nature lens guides how we choose ingredients: sometimes the most responsible, effective option is nature-identical or responsibly engineered under green-chemistry principles. We stay free from petrochemical derivatives and microplastics while allowing science-led materials that lower impact and improve skin outcomes.
We’re not yet carbon-neutral, and we won’t claim it until we’ve properly measured, reduced, and only then considered credible offsets. Until then, we say exactly what’s true.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not exactly. “Clean” is often defined by exclusion lists. Responsible Chemistry is defined by a framework: green-chemistry principles, microbiome respect, no petrochemical derivatives, and a clear performance standard.
Science-led formulation using green-chemistry principles, no petrochemical derivatives or microplastics, and architecture that respects barrier function and the microbiome.
Gentle, yes—but also active. We design for tolerance and results at the same time, rather than trading one for the other.
It means you’re investing in skin longevity—supporting the systems that keep your skin resilient now, so you’re not trying to repair preventable damage later.
Responsible Chemistry is our first pillar for a reason.
It’s the quiet logic under every formula: how we protect your barrier, your microbiome, and your future skin, while still delivering the kind of visible results that make you want to repeat the ritual again tomorrow.
By default, yes. We use aluminum tubes and bottles with aluminum caps, FSC paper, and paper-only shipping. Sprays are an optional, reusable accessory for essence and eau de cologne; each adds $5 donated 100% to WWF, with transparent reporting.
Because format matters. Many clients told us they loved the formulas but needed the precision and convenience of a spray to realistically use them daily. We didn’t want to silently slip into plastic use, so we built a transparent compromise: sprays are not included by default, they are opt-in and reusable, and the entire $5 accessory fee is donated 100% to WWF.
By default, yes. Our primary packaging is aluminum tubes and aluminum bottles with aluminum caps, our secondary packaging is FSC-certified paper, and our shipping is paper-based only. The only exception is optional, reusable spray nozzles for the essence and eau de cologne.

Our spa-born, practice-based, quasi-clinical approach. Formulas are tested in real treatments, with practitioner-logged observations and small-batch iteration. It’s not a substitute for formal clinical trials.
Aluminum is lighter, more resilient for spa work and travel, and highly recyclable. The lighter weight also means it has a lower carbon footprint in transportation, from manufacturer to us, to you. It allows us to create a materially consistent, low-friction recycling path that aligns with our operational reality as a spa-born brand. And aluminum makes the tubes air-tight and contamination-free.
Our ingredient lens: sometimes the most responsible choice is a nature-identical or responsibly engineered material produced under green chemistry, rather than a raw extract. It must still align with our no-petro and no-microplastic policy.
No. Our Living Formulation System is practice-based, quasi-clinical observation in spa settings. It’s structured, logged, and taken seriously, but it is not a formal clinical trial.
It means the product you’re using has already been through real-world testing on a variety of skin types and lived conditions—and it will continue to evolve if we find a better way to serve your skin.
Yes, occasionally—and always for a reason. If we update a formula, it’s because our ongoing observations and data suggest it will improve tolerance, performance, or skin longevity.
We don’t reformulate for trends; we reformulate for results. Changes are driven by how skin responds in practice, not by ingredient fads.
Not yet. We currently operate on 100% renewable electricity across spa and production, and we’re working on measuring our full emissions baseline. We will only claim carbon neutrality once we have measured, reduced what we can, and used credible offsets where needed.
Because “natural” isn’t always the most sustainable or skin-friendly choice. Beyond Nature means we choose ingredients based on impact and compatibility, not just on how they sound. That includes nature-identical or responsibly engineered materials when they’re better for both skin and planet—while still staying free from petrochemical derivatives and microplastics.
Planet-Positive underpins our Material Integrity decisions: aluminum primaries, FSC paper, paper-only shipping, and plastic-free systems by default. The only exception—optional spray nozzles for essence and eau de cologne—is transparent and tied to a $5 donation to WWF.
Reuse optional sprays, recycle aluminum tubes and bottles, flatten and recycle paper packaging, and choose routines you’ll actually stick with—because half-used products are their own kind of waste.
